The front pillar I want to change the texture to match the others. Plus I'm not too sure on the floor either. I'm thinking of changing it to the same as the celling. Also for the first few images I forgot to turn the bump depth down from 1 so if they look a little odd then that's why. Also I was thinking of using a rendered image of the cave scene for the side and back panels to give the illusion that it carries on. Hope they look ok so far. Plus was I turning the lighting way down low?
It's looking good! Just keep at it and go with what looks the best. If we have this finished by the 10th then you guys can start animating.
And about using a 2D plane, it will work on the rear plane but I don't think it will work on the side. You might have to extend the physical geometry instead.
Reason for this is parallax; the angle of the left wall and its position to the camera will make it difficult to feign a 3D effect with a 2D image, especially when there's camera movement.
yh, this is lookin good. I think yh the bump map needs to be brought down as you've said, then see wht it looks like......other than that, I like it, would it be possible to maybe try having elements that are a different colour tone? Like in Simon's above ground renders, the difference between the sky and ground are aesthetically pleasing, I'm not completely sure how you could do this underground, maybe a dark and blackish background with brighter red parts in the foreground? I dunno, jus a suggestion.
I'll experiment tonight. I'm havling slight problems with the texturesin terms of you can see where they overlap and I can't seem to do anything to stop it happening. However I think it could be ok as the cave will be dark and it's only noticable with light. However I'll do some different textures and then let you two review it on monday. Are we meeting up then?

ReplyDeleteOk. I'll go back and just duplicate a few things then.
